Pope Benedict XVI assures that all Catholic organizations will mobilize to offer their help and support in Haiti.

Haiti, a largely Catholic country and considered as the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, its capital, Port au Prince was totally devastated by the massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake just days ago. As the aftermath of the disaster is unfolding before us, it is quite clear that millions are affected, thousands are dead and tens of thousands that survived are desperate for help.
Pope Benedict XVI last Wednesday, Jan 13, 2010 appealed for our generous response for the victims of Haiti’s earthquake. This appeal was echoed by Rev. Fr. Richard Simon, Pastor of Saint Lambert Parish of Skokie in this Sunday’s Masses. A second collections were intended for the aid of the people of Haiti.
