Celebrating The Feast of Santo Niño at St. Lambert Parish
January is the month of the Child Jesus, the Sr. Sto. Niño! The Saint Lambert Parish in Skokie commemorates this special day on the third Saturday of January.
The celebration begins (Friday of the 2nd week of January) with a daily 6:45 pm novena prayer for eight days before the feast day. Novena prayers are heldat Saint Lambert Church, 8148 Karlov Avenue, Skokie, Illinois.
On the Feast Day, which is the ninth day of the novena (usually on the 3rd Saturday of January), at 5:00 pm is the culmination of the Sto. Niño Novena. A procession and a solemn Mass will highlight the occasion. Parishioners and guests can bring their Sto. Niño images at the celebration and include them in the procession. Following the mass is a celebration with Filipino food and the Sinulog (a prayer dance) at Trainor Hall.
